& 3:30-5pm
- Texas Hill
Country Cruise:
8:00AM-4:00PM
-
Drivers Meeting in parking lot:
7:30AM-8:00AM
-
Drive your Z thru the Texas Hill Country. 100% of the the proceeds go to a local charity.
To be Announced.
The Texas Hill Country Cruise
has some prerequisites for all participants in order to assure a
safe and fun event.
1) The state law requires a minimum of 2/32 of an inch of tire
tread. Tires start losing a significant amount of grip well
before this threshold, especially on wet roads. Therefore, we
require at least 4/32 of an inch on all tires. So, with this
fact in hand please check your tires and prepare accordingly as
participation with inadequate tread depth (4/32) will be denied.
This requirement is intended to help prevent accidents and
increase safety for everyone during the event.
2) We require an Family Radio Service (FRS) device in every car
so your lead cars can communicate what's up ahead. It's not only
important for safety, but also to prevent people from getting
lost. Keep in mind that local Texans can get lost on these
roads, so there's a good chance that our out of town and out of
state folks will get lost without a radio. Also, without a
radio, you're driving blind. If one person takes a wrong turn
and other cars then follow him, they could all end up on the
wrong road and off the route for miles. Most FRS radios (i.e.
walkie-talkies) are inexpensive and can be purchased from
Walmart, Best Buy, or your local big-box electronics store.
3) There will be a mandatory drivers meet at 8am in the hotel
parking lot to discuss the route, rules, check tread depths and
test radios.
NOTE: Because of the large turn
out for this event, all of these things become especially
important. We feel that compliance only contributes to help make
it a great, safe, and fun event for everyone!
