Autocross at Brampton Powerade Centre

PowerAde_ArialBramptonPowerAde2

The Brampton Powerade Centre is about a 45 minute drive (25 miles) from the host hotel.

An autocross (or an autoslalom as we call it in Canada, eh!) event consists of competitors driving through a defined course laid out by using traffic pylons on a parking lot. This is a grassroots motorsport discipline that allows almost anyone to enjoy the thrill of automotive competition in a safe and controlled environment. Vehicles race independently of each other, at no time can there be contact with another competitor. This reduces the risks considerably, so you can concentrate on driving the course, brake where necessary and do some precision cornering thus emphasizing driver skill and vehicle handling rather than just speed. The corners are tight, and there are lots of pylons to navigate around. The driving is exciting and challenging. Each run is electronically timed, and only your quickest lap time of all your runs, counts towards your final standing. Depending on how the day goes, you can expect to have 4 to 6 runs.

As long as your car passes tech inspection, you are good to go, no matter how old your Z is or the modifications that have been done to the vehicle. Cars may be classed accordingly into run groups such as stock, modified and open/race or other. Helmets are required.

The event starts early in the morning with check-in registration, a mandatory drivers’ meeting and course walk through, then the fun begins
