Z Across America Rally !
(ZAAR)

What’s better than a road-trip to ZCON (trick-question)?

…it’s being part of the LARGEST Z-Car distance-rally (ever) across the United States with fellow Z lovers – supported by Nissan and NISMO. Note – you DO NOT need to be registered for ZCON in order to participate – but you do need to sign up (bottom of this page).

The ZAAR (Z Across America Rally) is being organized for enthusiasts to enjoy their cars in their intended environment – being DRIVEN. This 2025 adventure starts in Salt Lake City…goes all the way to York, PA, heads back toward Los Angeles then goes back east to Nashville just before ZCON 2025 kicks off! That’s over 7,100 Miles for the whole route!

How do I get signed up to Join the ZAAR Adventure?

We would love to have you along – all ZAAR participants will be required to sign a waiver
and SIGN UP IN ADVANCE so we can know to expect you, get an official head-count for our rally-hosts, etc.

You are NOT required to be part of this year’s ZCON event – the idea is to get Nissan enthusiasts
out and enjoying their vehicles. Additionally, you can run as much, or as little,
of the ZAAR segments as you would like.

In order to participate in the historic ZAAR adventure – you MUST be driving a
NISSAN-family vehicle (i.e. Z-Car, GTR, Infiniti, Datsun, etc…all in-family models are WELCOME).

(If you own a Mustang, Porsche, etc. – sorry, this run isn’t for you…)

FAQ’s about ZAAR

What is ZAAR? It is NOT a race, nor time-distance experience – it’s a simple “road trip” with other like-minded enthusiasts who want to enjoy their vehicles and see part of our great country.

“Z Across America Rally” is a concept by the Z Car Club Association to get enthusiasts together and out across this country of ours. The core principle of “Z Club Life” is to enjoy the social aspects, driving culture and adventurous nature of being a Z Car enthusiast.

Commonly asked Questions
Q: Do I need to register?
A: Yes, please…this is so we can arrange with various stops/venues and know how many people to expect. This helps with our stops along the way and evening activities volunteers are putting together.

Q: Is there a cost associated with it? …do I need to be registered for ZCON at the end of the rally?
A: There is NO “cost” to sign up and participate in some (or all) of the rally. This is a volunteer-led event, the only costs you would incur would be for overnight lodgings and attraction entry fees or tolls. Of course, fuel is on you as well. 😉

Q: Does my car have to be a “Z Car” to participate?
A: No, it does not have to be a Z – it DOES have to be a Nissan-family vehicle (i.e. Datsun, Infiniti, other Nissan…)

Q: What will I do on this event?
A: Expect to see part of the country – each segment is different starting typically from a gathering spot (i.e. hotel parking lot) and visiting points-of-interest along the route. Many segments have evening functions (outings, dealer stop-ins, gatherings at other attractions).

Q: My Z’s pretty old, what kind of preparations should I make?
A: As with any road-trip, mechanical upkeep is critical. Ensure your car is well-maintained, has good tires and brakes. It’s recommended with older models to bring tools and spare parts for items that commonly break (i.e. belts, fuses…). Having a mechanic change fluids and do a review is a recommendation as the whole route is over 7,000 miles and each segment is ~300-600 miles.

Q: Should I bring a two-way radio to communicate with other members?
A: Yes, absolutely!! We will communicate on a common channel and try to exchange phone numbers before departing. Each segment has a volunteer-lead that will help coordinate communication. Note, if you’re looking to relive your CB radio days, feel free…but the group will be using convention two-way handhelds.

Q: Will there be stickers or other cool stuff included in the ZAAR event?
A: YES – great sponsors like Nissan North America, NISMO, the Z Car Club Association and others are contributing to provide materials and freebies to enjoy as part of your experience.
